Warmth, strength, relaxation and reassurance. This is what I gather from the trunk of a tree when I wrap my arms around one. No, you will not find me out every day hugging one. Probably, I have only done this about five times in my life. You have to be lead to, kind of invited.
As a child, well, even as an adult I have climbed several trees. I love to sit quietly once I have conquered the climb and kind of meditate. I find being up a tree and hugging one if I can’t climb it, to be so relaxing. The climb down is not always that easy. But then I remember my mom saying, “You got yourself up there, now you can get yourself down”. So true. Maybe a tree helps in life’s up’s and down’s. Teaching us that we got ourselves in a situation and now we must figure the way back. Then all is well after a hug.
To hug a tree, to me, really does seem to heal my mood and make me smile. I picture this tree to be drawing me near, coaxing me over, expecting me to gaze at it’s height and beauty. Then I completely surprise it by putting my arms as far around as I can, pressing my cheek to the bark. Deep, warm, feelings of love race through my body and I hope right down to it’s roots. Connecting our two souls and other souls that have had the courage to hug a tree.

This was so very delicious. When I first googled Zucchini Pie, I pictured the one’s my mom would make. Oh my! They were an actual sweet, melt in your mouth pie. YUM! But this popped up first, so I switched gears, and made two. One to be eaten with fried chicken and the other to be frozen for another time.
The actual title for the recipe is Italian Zucchini Crescent Pie from Pillsbury.com You might find that nearing the end of your garden time, you have zucchini left. Look up this tasty, fluffy, delight. Enjoy!

My son and I had the sweet opportunity to plant some pretty little pink mums and a few pink tropical plants for a woman that can not easily get out of her chair anymore, and she certainly can not get to her plants out front. She sits all day in the same chair watching the birds eat from her plants and drink from her feeders. She wheels herself into her kitchen and can spy a part of her flower garden in the yard. Before she goes to sleep at night, she leans up in her bed and catches a small glimpse of her solar plants out front.
She has just absolutely fallen in love with our son, Alexander, and who could blame her.He has a warm smile, a gentle way, and a genuine laugh. He put her right to ease and she even asked for a hug before we left. He steadily worked and never once complained.
After we had finished, her plants got a nice big drink from the garden hose, and her porch got a thorough sweep. She let out a shout of joy, she had a huge smile, and her eyes were all lit up. Her little old puppy even got a lot of attention and had his tail wagging for Alexander to pet his ears again.
Try to find someone in need and just stop by a couple of times a week. Just a short little visit can really brighten someone’s day. Find the joy in helping others.

A very special moment was had this morning. Picture two lovers. They wake up in the morning way before the morning is lit. They shower, have devotions and prayer together. They sip their coffee, all while loving each other with sweet smiles and the look in their eyes. Pandora is playing songs from the station Wonderland by Night. Then, for a brief moment, their world stops. Their love song is beginning.
Time After Time fills the room and they stand, move close, and dance. As they hold each other, gently swaying to the beautiful words, tears start to form in their eyes and travel down their cheeks. The lyrics are:Time after time I tell myself that I am so lucky to be loving you. So lucky to be the one you run to see in the evening when the day is through. I only know what I know, the passing years will show, you’ve kept my love so young, so new. And time after time you’ll hear me say that I’m so lucky to be loving you.
And I am. Jennifer is lucky to be loving Gary.
