Sometimes we drive into a town and picture the residents enjoying tea on the porch and hearing children play in their yards. The restaurants, the downtown, and local shops are quiet and small. You see but one ore two people walking the main street. We try to not leave until we have one place we ate, or a shop we browsed through. If we leave and have failed, then we come back through for another pass.
Carthage, Tennessee is home to former Vice President Al Gore and his father Senator Albert Gore Sr. As fall has begun, we will make a trip to Carthage to enjoy their livestock auction.
My husband and I went last year and honestly enjoyed seeing the animals up a bit closer. At one point, they sent a bull in for auction, and there was a hush through the crowd. He was really very impressive. Beautiful. Then we went to Pizza Hut. The service was friendly. The bathrooms were clean. We enjoyed the food. We plan to bring the kids and grandkids to see the animals and then eat pizza.
This was our trip to Carthage. Some trips are small. Some we struggle to pack everything in to. Each place we travel to, whether small or large, we try to give the same time, and we try to make it a positive trip.
