Oh for the beauty of a large inside waterfall with a tropical setting!!
Can you recall the Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World Resorts before the latest renovations in 2015? These renovations upgraded the themed volcano pool and added the new bungalows into the Seven Seas Lagoon, but they also saw internal changes at the Great Ceremonial House. These changes involved the removal of the original lobby waterfall.
This article is to rekindle those memories of a time in the past. Enjoy these photos, some are iffy on the quality so I do apologize, but you at least get the feel of the wonderful design and can appreciate what the Disney Imagineers created.
The view once you entered the Great Ceremonial House to check-in
The clean upper skylight roof panels
The front seating area for guests to relax from the heat or learn about the DVC
It was a little crowded around the check-in lines, but it did provide some seating
The second floor views were enjoyable
The flowers and plants reached upward
Plants so close you could reach out and touch them
Ground level view coming out of the shops
Shop display windows off to the side of the waterfall
The view from the 2nd floor at night
The renovated design is extremely spacious now, and Disney has done a wonderful job of re-making the lobby into a beautiful functioning space. We just wanted to remember the old waterfall, so lush, so beautiful!
