Located on Tennessee 321 – Wears Valley Road just off Lamar Alexander Parkway in Townsend, Tennessee is Captain Dave’s Little River Artistry shop. The Smoky Mountains has several locations where you can find skilled artisans in wood carving, but no other like the Little River Artistry due to the incredible quantity and variety of pieces both completed and in the process.

Captain Dave is a retired Firefighter Captain who decided to take his incredible skills full time in wood carving back in 1996.

There is good parking off the road, and several buildings to walk through and check out his impressive carvings and diversity.

Variety is the key at Little River Artistry, so take your time and look everywhere. Be certain to make special requests for a specific item if there is anything you would like but cannot find.

Nestled in the Little River region of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and close to Cades Cove rests a quaint little town called Townsend, TN.
